Aramis Tannat Syrah, Laplace, Chateau d’Aydie, France from the the family Laplace who owns Château Aydie since 1927, three generations passionate winegrowers played key part in the development of the appellation AOP Madiran and PDO Pacherenc du Vic Bilh.
Pierre Laplace, has developed Chateau d’Aydie and ad it to the map of wine making. Pierre Laplace continuous improvement mindset and applying innovative techniques has made a very well know winemaker with aim to produce quality wine sustainably. Pierre Laplace has pioneered the use of ‘Microbullage’ or micro-oxygenation is a technique which involves the introduction of low concentrations of oxygen during early wine maturation in a controlled manner.
This technique is known to replicate the benefits of barrel-aging but in a much shorter period time and it is a cost effective technique in which the red wines tannins are softened without the loss of its structure. This technique has been largely adopted by many wine makers in the Médoc.
Aramis Tannat Syrah, Laplace, Chateau d’Aydie, France is made from a blend of an outstanding grape, the Tannat and syrah.
The Laplace family owns 60 hectares within the Madiran and Pacherenc du Vic Bilh appellations in the foothills of the Pyrenees with the climatic influences of the Atlantic Ocean. The soil composition is rich in gravel, quartz sand in a clay-rich, well-draining soil.
The oceanic climate and the proximity of the Pyrenees give a mild and rainy winter and spring, a hot summer and a very sunny autumn.
The grapes are carefully selected and undergo a gentle pressing to maintain the aromatic characters. The wine is then fermented in a stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature using wild yeast strains are used for fermentation. The wine is constantly monitored to ensure the wine maintain its freshness fruit driven and complexity.
This wine is deep uby red color, expressive nose with ripe black fruit, spices and some green pepper. Smoothly elegant and fruity on the palate. Well-structured light tannins Long finish.
