Description

Flam, Merlot Reserve, from Flam winery, founded by brothers Golan and Gilad and their mother Kami was established in 1998, with the goal to make Israeli wines with great standard of quality . The story of Flam winery is the story of a family that are very passionate about making great quality wine for well over 50 years. The flam is part of the foundation of the Israeli  modern Israeli winemaking.

the majority of the wine making in Israel started around the 70’s and 80’s. This marks  the beginning of the modern Israeli wine industry, which has a completely different facet now a days.

Merlot is a grape just like cabernet sauvignon adapted very well with a soil and climate in Israel. high quality standard  wines are produced across Israeli. these wines have achieve some most prestigious awards in the wine stage internationally.

Flam winery is one of few among the boutique wineries to march to the beat of their own drummer. Having chosen a path of enquiry, gradually identifying a unique personality, it was not an easy road to follow as it did not allow for any shortcuts. In this manner, the ability to produce unique quality wine was discovered based on regional characteristics. As part of this development, The Judean Hills Quartet was initiated

Flam’s vineyards are planted in the the Judean Hills and Upper Galilee, in the best parcels for growing wine grapes. In all our parcels we insist of a very low yield-acre ratio. The variety of soils of our private vineyard, which Golan oversees personally, contributes to the creation of fierce and intense wines that reflect the renewed tradition of Mediterranean winemaking.

The vineyard are planted 730 meters above sea level. The  black volcanic soil  and it’s mostly chilly climate , throughout  the year.  provide a perfect  ripening of the Merlot  vines. which gives its true Israeli merlot characteristic of  red fruit flavours and a pleasant acidity that creates wines with a fantastic ageing potential.
