Zaccagnini, Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico, DOC is a superb wine. Zaccagnini winery is situated in the beautiful region of Marche, which is just on the opposite coast to Tuscany. This is a family owned winery which run by two bothers.
Verdicchio is local grape in Marche which develops interesting flavours in the region. They produce a fantastic three Verdicchios that pure and balanced and unique ticking all the boxes for those who love a good quality Verdicchio wine.
this wine is certasinly one of the best example of its type coming from the regiom of Marche. Zaccagnini winery have been working organically for a few years, however from the 2020 vintage, the winery have being certified as organic.
This show clearly the quality and environment are paramount for these two bothers.
they pay great level of attention to detail is fundamental for producing wines with characteristics with pure and particular flavours.
Viticulture
The vineyards are planted 500 metres above the sea level and extend for 42 hectares. The region climate and the soils contribute immensely for the quality of grapes, alongside the modernisation work the Zaccagnini family has completed in the vineyards and winery, enable them to obtain high quality and wine with character and achieving a classification of Verdicchio DOC Classico.
Winemaking
The grapes are handpicked and carefully selected and undergo a gentle pressing to maintain the aromatic characters of Verdicchio. The wine is then fermented in a stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature, to ensure the natural quality of the grapes are preserved.
